This is a very rare opportunity with The Dr Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute to build on a solid foundation and to lead a vibrant and healthy organization into its future. The Museum has many consecutive years of positive financial results, revenues exceeding expenses, during which it expanded its programs and facilities and increased its endowment. There is a wealth of seasoned staff and volunteer talent, community involvement, partnerships with numerous organizations, a fully vested Board of Directors and a broad base of donor support. The next President/CEO will have the unique leadership opportunity to build on the past successes.

The President/CEO of the Museum will assume responsibility for articulating its mission, vision and values to all constituencies. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, with regular interactions with the Chairperson and the Executive Committee, the President/CEO will direct all operations activities, and implement policies, programs, and procedures in a manner that is fiscally responsible and consistent with the Museum’s values and strategic goals.

The President/CEO will:

Serve as the chief spokesperson and representative of the Dr Pepper Museum & Free Enterprise Institute in ways that strengthen its profile.
Develop and implement program strategies that promote the Museum’s mission and vision.
Expand capacity of the Free Enterprise Institute educational programs.
Create complete business plans for attaining the goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors.
Build an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to subordinate managers able to successfully manage several internal “businesses” including visitor attractions, education programs, retail, events, rentals, collections and others to be created in the future.
Ensure adherence to established policies and legal guidelines of the Museum’s daily activities and long-term plans.
Direct and oversee investments and fundraising/development efforts.
Maintain current and build relations of trust with all partners, internal and external.
Promote and develop collaborations that will support the Museum’s activities and objectives: current examples include such diverse partners as Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Dr Pepper Collector Club, Waco Chamber of Commerce, as well as libraries, schools, colleges and universities, etc.
Devise remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management when necessary.

The ideal candidate will have the following personal and professional competencies, education, skills, and experience:

A strategic and visionary leader with abilities to transform vision and mission into programs that will propel the Museum and Institute growth.
Inspires followers through building trust
Demonstrate core values of integrity and reliability in all actions
Financial management acumen, including ability to increase funding resources
Advanced education: B.A. degree minimum, Master’s degree preferred
Five or more years of senior management experience in an organization with $500K or larger budget.

Salary and Benefits:

From $110,000 to $125,000 annually with bonus potential based on meeting established goals.
